october’s path project :: live generously
this month we are exploring Jesus’ teaching to live generously. the path project this month is called ” have 2 : give 1″ based on the phrase “if you have 2 coats give your brother 1″, quoted by john the baptizer and lived out by Jesus.
here’s the task:
community groups are being pitted against each other in a “biggest loser” contest where you will be weighed based upon giving up hours, dollars, and pounds.
hours
each hour that you donate to spend with an Oak Grove partner organization will go towards your team. here are some partner organizations
here is the form that you need to fill out to make it count.
dollars
all money raised will go towards Project Angel Tree
pounds
each pound of stuff which you decide would be better off somewhere other than your house will count toward your total. our “stuff” will be going to:
canned goods : toco hills food pantry.
clothes/shoes: dress for success, refugee resettlement ministry, soles for souls.
other goods (bikes, stereo equipment, housewards, etc.) will go to refugee resettlement ministry, united methodist children’s home, breakthrough house, hagar’s house, clarkston community center, etc.
